TDI Nitrox (40 msw / 130 ft.)

This is the entry level certification course for recreational divers wishing to utilize enriched air nitrox (EAN) as a breathing gas. The benefits assosiated with breathing nitrox are many however the main reasons are to extend your bottom time by diving nitrox for a time advantage (extending the NDL) or to use nitrox for a physiological advantage (diving to an air NDL). Either way nitrox can increase your underwater range and give you a physiological edge over air.

The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for using nitrox mixes from 22% to 40% oxygen content. Students will learn how to track CNS and pulmonary toxicity, formulate detailed dive plans and execute these in an ocean environment. Buoyancy control is also polished during this course to ensure the diver has the correct discipline and skill to dive close to an MOD for a mixture.

A. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in diving activities utilizing EAN 22 to EAN 40 without direct supervision.

B. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are qualified to enroll in:

1. TDI Advanced Nitrox Course

2. TDI Decompression Procedures Course

3. TDI Semi-CCR Rebreather Course
